Nike has just introduced their newest innovative footwear offering, the Nike SFB, the lightest tactical boot ever. Four years ago the Innovation Kitchen at Nike was given the task of creating a boot that needed to meet the needs of first-response teams and high-speed operators who are elite athletes in their own right who needed a product that would perform. Tobie Hatfield, Nike Innovation Manager says, “Throughout the evolution of this product, it also became very clear that America’s elite military operators and first responders share similarities with the world’s top tier athletes.”
The SFB pays homage to it’s co-founder, Bill Bowerman, who before becoming a track coach at the University of Oregon was a founding member of the 10th Mountain Division of the United States Army.
The SFB features some of the most innovative technologies used at Nike including a Natural Motion Cushioning, Sticky Rubber forefoot lugs, a Speed Lacing System made of 550 cord run through metal speed-lacing eyelets keep the foot securely locked down, in addition to a number of other features that makes this boot the lightest, fastest, natural motion boot ever produced.
